Messiah Lutheran Church is organizing a Trikathon on Sunday April 28, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.
All proceeds will benefit the Wilmington Good Shepherd Center for the homeless.
Trike-a-thon: Athletes 5 years old and younger on any type of people-powered vehicle, i.e. trikes, bikes, scooters, strollers, wagons etc. may enter. (Athletes must be accompanied by a minimum of one responsible adult and can have an unlimited entourage supporting them while they ride.) Prior to the event, athletes solicit pledges for the Good Shepherd Center for the Homeless from friends and relatives. All pledges will be collected at the end of the course per the number of course segments completed by the athlete. (This is not a race.)
Bike Rodeo conducted by the League of American Bicyclists: For kids of all ages on their bikes. Helmet safety checks. Bike safety checks. “Rules of the Road” safety course.
Safe Kids Expo: Learn about just some of the many programs in our community focused on helping you keep your kids safe.
After Party: The amount raised by the athletes will be announced immediately following the event at an After Party in the Fellowship Hall. Athletes, their coaches and entourage will be celebrated for their hard work and concern for Wilmington’s homeless.
When: Sunday, April 28 at 1:30 p.m. Registration begins at 1:00 p.m. This will be an annual event held on the last Sunday in April. In case of rain, the After-Party and Safe Kids Expo will take place inside the Fellowship Hall.
Where: Messiah Lutheran Church – 3302 S College Road & new section of the Cross-City Trail.
