"Charge them… to do
good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share." - 1 Timothy 6:17-18
In February 2025, Messiah gifted two non-profit organizations with financial support as a part of our annual stewardship budget. Here is a summary of the impact you have made in our community and world!
BAPTISTS ON MISSION
Amount of Gift: $5,000
Mission: Glorify God by involving churches and Christians in meeting human needs in Jesus' name with 19 different missions.
Purpose of the Gift: Provide financial support to the disaster recovery efforts in the western part of North Carolina due to Hurricane Helene. Placed into their designated fund for that purpose.
Impact: In general, the Hurricane Helene Disaster recovery current goals are to rebuild six centers for housing the many volunteers, perform Essential Rapid Repair (ERR) of homes with final repairs to be done at a later date, and perform total rebuild of homes. So far this year they have completed 238 ERR and hope to reach a total of 1,000 by year end. From their past disaster relief efforts, it appears that it could take up to 10 years to have life resume as normal. Note that ERR designated gifts will assign 100% to Helene Disaster relief efforts.

KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY
Amount of Gift: $5,000
Mission: By sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, Kairos hopes to change the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth to become loving and productive citizens of their communities.
Purpose: Supporting Kairos Inside, a 3 1/2 day event set on March 17-20 at Pender Correctional Prison in Burgaw. Funds provided 5 catered meals with paper supplies for 24 inmate guests and the team of 20 volunteers. Additional dollars paid for 3 outside breakfasts for the volunteers. The event included 10 talks with guests as they partnered with volunteers, chapel time, meditations, prayers, and singing. One day's discussion was exclusively on repentance and forgiveness. Inmate guests were then sent out on a mission to meet with prayer and share groups within the prison. Remaining funds will be used to continue their mission by supporting future powerful events in NC, namely Kairos Torch for youth offenders and Kairos Outside for the women of loved ones in prison.
Impact: 24 inmates left the event feeling inspired with a newly found or strengthened faith of Jesus as their forgiver. The team of volunteers will return monthly to support Christian community inside the prison.
A testimony from one of the guests: "We entered Kairos feeling lost, hopeless, knowing little about Jesus or the Christian Faith. We received acceptance and love by the Kairos team along with good teaching (and some good food). We left filled with hope and a plan for building our new faith in Jesus and our new found support group of Christian brothers inside the prison."
We’re excited of the impact Be Rich is making in our communities as you give through our church to support our non-profit organizations.
When we give and serve, we show God’s love.
